About Schmittenhöhe (Zell am See)

Zell am See's home mountain, the Schmittenhöhe, rises directly above the lakeside town in Austria's Salzburg region. It offers around 77 km of varied pistes - from gentle valley cruisers to steep north-facing descents - with sweeping panoramas over the Hohe Tauern peaks and Lake Zell. Modern gondolas climb from several base stations, snowmaking covers most runs, and the Ski ALPIN CARD links it to neighbouring Kaprun and the year-round Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Ski schools, rentals, mountain restaurants and easy access from the town make it a popular all-round destination.
