About Furano
Furano, in the heart of Hokkaido, is one of Japan's most celebrated powder resorts, long a regular host of Alpine Ski World Cup races. Spread over two linked zones - Furano and Kitanomine - it rises from about 235 m to 1074 m, served by a high-capacity ropeway and gondola, and is renowned for its exceptionally dry, abundant snow. With a famous World Cup downhill, long cruising runs, gentle beginner terrain and tree skiing, plus night skiing, ski schools, rentals and restaurants, it suits every level and sits close to the lavender fields and town of central Hokkaido.
